No point in making a suggestion any more it'll be burried so deep nobody will ever see it. That said I have more questions than actual suggestions. I say questions because I don't know if any of these are actually complex engines.
What about an electric engine? Does it count as an engine? Are they simple?
What about the new Porsche 918 Hybrid engine? Electric power and gas power? Are they technically two engines?
What about the Audi E-Tron Quattro Turbo diesels in their LMP1 cars?
What about a Formula 1 engine that revs to 19,000 RPMs?
Are any of those complex engines?

1. Electric motor
2. One engine, one motor.
3. E-Tron is electric, Turbo diesel is a normal turbo diesel on race day. Super cool, but not that complex.
4. See #3

Electric "engines" are motors.

Electrics are motors, and they are crazy simple. Just an electromagnet and some regular magnets that spin around.
A hybrid is generally a gas engine coupled with an electric motor of some sort, tied to the wheels through a transmission of some sort.
Diesels aren't any more complex than normal engines
Just because it revs really high doesn't mean it's complex.

Just a thought but Volvo's planned T6 is a 2 litre petrol engine with both a supercharger and turbo will have some pretty intricate plumbing
